Plot
Lou-Jean (Goldie Hawn) and Clovis Popelin (William Atherton), two married petty criminals, lose their baby in the state of Texas and decide to do whatever it takes to get it back. Lou-Jean breaks Clovis out of prison, and the two steal his son from his foster home, as well as taking a highway patrolman hostage. As a massive net begins to chase them across Texas, the pair become unlikely folk heroes and even begin to bond with the captive cop.
