California allows a maximum of seven letters/numbers on personalized plates, but all of Mickey’s plates have a minimum of eight.. A recovering drug dealer with two ex-wives, a daughter and a passion for cars, is thrust front and center into a high-profile case after the death of a friend. This is complete with more practice and side events than he can handle.
This intriguing premise sets a compelling backdrop for a series of legal proceedings
The show takes this, adds a strong cast, well-crafted and delivered dialogue, and an interesting plot, and moves along at a good pace. Some of the cinematography choices are odd, particularly the variable focus shots and some of the orange-tinged scenes, although overall it works, which is necessary. Mickey’s driver, Izzy, is often used as a plot device, but despite being obvious, feels natural and in keeping with the storytelling.
This is engaging, entertaining, and enjoyable from start to finish – highly recommended
