One location that wasn’t available was Winfield House, the current residence of the American ambassador
Plot
In the midst of an international crisis, career diplomat Kate Wyler lands a high-profile job she’s not suited for, and it will affect her marriage and political future, so see if your favorite show has made it. The producers convinced both the American & British governments to let them use real-life settings as filming locations for the series, including the still-newly-built American Embassy (Nine Elms) for any film or screen production, especially an American one.
The characters are phenomenally written, and they’re all somewhat of a mystery
Although it’s accurately described as occupying the largest residential estate (11 acres) in London, excluding Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes. Their dialogue is fast-paced and engaging, and the plot continues to develop in chaotic political directions.
It felt like Night Agent, but much better
I want to compare it a bit to House of Cards, but it doesn’t quite fit the bill. There’s a hint of a sequel in there, but again it doesn’t quite fit.
She’s good at her job, so no one thinks about her decency
I see reviews complaining about the lead and her disheveled appearance and abrasive behavior, but that’s her hole thing! "You want people in power who *don’t* want to be in power"." What she wears, how she looks, and even when she sleeps are secondary to her primary mission.
Hopefully we’ll see s2
I thought her style fit the narrative perfectly, and it was a refreshing change of pace. It’s rare that I like all the characters in a show, but this one did it for me.
