Remake of the movie El agente topo (2020)
Plot
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers a private investigator’s ad and becomes a mole in an undercover investigation of a nursing home. Michael Schur was inspired to create “A Man On the Inside” after watching the Chilean documentary “The Mole Agent.” He says, “The Mole Agent”; a documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar, regardless of age, ethnicity, or gender, and I would describe that feeling in a very simplistic way: “I need to call my mom.” In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, does our show promote the feeling of wanting to call our moms?
These actors just get better with age, and they’re wonderfully cast in this sweet comedy series!
I’m 67 years old and it was so great to see so many actors from our generation and their great comedic styles. The script gets a little lost trying to solve the mystery and get deeper into the character story.
It’s not really a mystery
That’s okay because you have a pretty good idea who’s guilty about halfway through. You don’t care that it’s not really a mystery because you’re just having fun watching these golden oldies work and show off.

Just a tribute to how brave it is to be a senior citizen and still be active and feel visible in our youth-oriented society. What a sweet tribute to those who support and help us navigate the minefields of aging, this series was.
